I’ve always been fascinated by words and the nuances
of their meaning, by their beauty and power.

As a writer for nationally known consumer and trade publications, I’ve explored the worlds of agriculture, art, business, design, education, entertainment, fashion, food, health, nutrition, religion, sports, and travel. I developed a particular expertise in Italian culture, and received a Distinguished Service Award from the Italian Trade Commission for enduring commitment and contribution to Italian food. I’ve also lectured on ethnic culinary traditions, Sicilian folklore, and other topics for academic and community groups.

Proficient in recasting jargon into reader-friendly content and helping non-native speakers of English convey their message to an American audience, I’ve improved the readability and efficacy of written communications for such clients as The Rockefeller Group, Cushman & Wakefield, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and John

Wiley & Sons. I also co-authored The +10% Principle: How To Get Extraordinary Results From Ordinary People. Respectful of deadlines, I’ve effectively collaborated with freelance writers, art directors, photographers, stylists, and graphic designers.

As a community advocate, I coordinated a pro-bono multimedia public-awareness campaign that led to unanimous passage of a state law and a groundbreaking university study on a serious and underreported public health issue.

Yes, words can be beautiful and powerful.

“Of all the arts in which the wise excel,
Nature’s chief masterpiece is writing well.”
